Blackburn with Darwen Foster Carers Association Founded in 2001
Blackburn with Darwen Foster Care Association is run by Foster Carers and their Families. Founded in 2001 we have developed a range of support, advice, activities, and training services for Carers, their Families and the children in their care in the Blackburn with Darwen area.
Children in care have complex needs due to experiencing different forms of abuse and neglect, whether it be alcohol and drug abuse or witnessing domestic violence.
Blackburn with Darwen Foster Care Association offer help, support, guidance and education to all Carers and their families to provide a better outcome for these children and to provide a better future.
We aim to promote the professionalism of foster carers and seek appreciation of the significant role they play in managing the care of children and young adults. Working closely with the local authority, we want to promote the role of fostering to the wider community in recognition of the major shortage of carers and the day to day challenges they face.
Overall our aim is to provide secure and happy homes for the children in our care with acknowledgement that the child’s welfare is paramount.
